From David Jamison ADSO National Spokesperson,
Parliament has now passed the “Fair Indexation Bill” which provides for the regular adjustment of DFRB/DFRDB military superannuation pensions for those over 55 years of age in line with our objective. All things being equal these payments will no longer lose their relative purchasing power as living costs rise.
There is much still to achieve for those under 55 (especially those on invalidity super) and for members of the MSBS scheme but this is a good start and is due in no small measure to the efforts of our ADSO members and supporters and particularly the hard working “Fair Go” campaigners right across the Nation. We have shown what can be achieved when we work together with a common goal. My hope and indeed expectation, is that this unity will help us right many more of the injustices suffered by our serving and former ADF members and their families.
On behalf of the National Presidents of the ADSO associations* and the Fair Go Campaign Directors, well done and congratulations.
For myself, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for your encouragement and support and I know our Campaign Directors Alf Jaugietis and Ted Chitham share similar sentiments.
Thank you all and now to work on our next objectives.
